The Stickhandling Warm Up Series is a simple but helpful exercise that helps players warm up their hands before practice or a game. This can be setup as a station or half-ice setup. Players can work up and down the ice or you can allow them to move anywhere in a specified area.
Warm Up Series Progression:
- Top hand only, stickhandling around body
- Bottom hand only, stickhandling around body
- Two quick stickhandles, bring puck wide across body
- Hands together, bring puck out wide across body
- One puck with head up
- Keep two pucks under control
- Keep three pucks under control
Coaching Points:
- Work on keeping your head up
- Keep hands away from body
