In this video clip the Nashville Predators demonstrate a really well designed defensive zone faceoff play. It is a reverse that creates a lot of time and space for the defenseman to carry the puck around the net and make a play up the ice.

What to Watch

• Puck won back to the corner and is retrieved by the inside defenseman who sells carrying the puck up the wall
• The board side defenseman comes off the wall towards the net to initiate and call for the reverse
• The original board side D exits around the net and out the weak side
• Wingers sprint up ice to spread the ice
