Landeskog Reloads and Tracks as Inside Dots

https://vimeo.com/865929082?share=copy

This is a great clip to show players how important it is to reload with hard work to get above the puck, track back along the dots and force the puck carrier into a tough position. In this case it leads to a turnover and quick transition for the Colorado Avalanche.

What to Watch

  • On a Dallas Stars defensive zone faceoff win they quickly transition the puck out of the defensive zone
  • Landeskog (Avalanche #92) quickly reloads with 5 hard strides to get above the puck and with a good stick deters the Dallas Stars from changing sides of the ice
  • As the rush progresses up the ice the Avalanche defender makes a play on the puck carrier
  • As Landeskog sees this, he falls inside the dot line to support the D
  • Landeskog is then able to gather the loose puck and quickly transition in the opposite direction for the Avalanche
