This is a great warm up shooting drill that works well for situations where you have a lot of players on the ice or half ice practices. The goalies will see a lot of shots from all the angles. The players will go through a series of three movements that have different footwork, short passes, and puck handing skills. Each line will do the same movement for a set number of times determined by the coach before moving on the the next series. The players should always wait until the player in the previous line takes the shot before they start.
In the first series the players skate up to the blue line and stop, take a few hard strides back towards their line and then open up to receive a pass from the second player in line. The second series has the players carry the puck to the blue and make a tight control turn while maintaining good puck control before going in for the shot. The third series has the player skate a few strides, transition backwards, receive the pass, transition forwards, and then take the shot on net.
