When it is time to split up the defense and forwards into seperate groups, this is the first in a series of hockey drills for your defensive group. The diagram shows this hockey drill using the neutral zone face-off dots and center circle as a guide, but it can easily be run in one of the zones. To see how the drill is run be sure to reference the animation.
There are several key points of emphasis to communicate with your players:
- Accurate Passes
- Calling for the puck and providing a good target
- Controlling the puck while skating backwards and transitioning forwards.
