Criss cross drop passes can be used all over the ice and they are a great way to cause confusion for defenders. This is a good drill to work on positioning and execution on cross drop passes.
Setup
- Need 3 Barriers set up
- Player X passes to Player O
- Both players skate between the first two barriers and execute a criss cross drop pass
- They do the same between barriers 2 and 3
- Player X drives the net and player O passes
COACHING POINTS
- Players should make sharp turns so they are moving horizontally across the ice when making the drop pass.
- Drop pass should be to Players forehand.
- Make sure the player without the puck drives to the net hard
