Kane Uses Change Of Speed On Zone Entry

https://vimeo.com/857828510?share=copy

Getting to the middle of the ice on entries is a great way to cause confusion for the defensive players.  Kane does a great job of gaining the middle of the ice and has a nice delay to get the puck to his teammate who is coming in full speed.  Great clip for you to show your players.

What to Watch

  • Patrick Kane picks up puck in the neutral zone & gets inside the dots on the rush
  • After scanning the ice to see his options and the defensive opposition he is facing he recognizes there is no immediate attack option
  • Using his edges he decelerates to create a change of speed to create space higher in the zone on the entry opening up a fourth player option coming in late
