Classic D to D Hinge by Devils
https://vimeo.com/865771627
A D to D hinge is a great way to work the puck in a neutral zone transition. When done well it can give the puck to a player in the middle of the ice with speed and space to operate.
What to Watch
- The first pass in the regroup goes D to D.
- The D that receives the pass moves well outside the dots almost to the wall to suck in the neutral zone forechecker.
- The other D supports their partner well behind the puck and moving into the middle of the ice.
- Note: if they are not staggered then the forechecker is able to take away the pass with good stick position
- Once the D receives the puck back they attack the middle of the ice with their head up looking to distribute the puck.
