He noted that is is very common for coaches to focus their positioning when practicing the penalty kill. At AIC they changed their approach on how the practiced their penalty kill and improved from 79% PK percentage in 2016 - 2016 to 92.5% PK percentage in 2018 - 2019. What was the main reason for the drastic improvement? Their focus and how they practiced. They became much more habit and concept based instead of just focusing on positions.
